Hi, I’m Stephanie!
Founder of Ember & Ivory, a bespoke shop specializing in minimalist, boho-inspired pet provisions. I intentionally design and make every product by hand for dog owners to outfit their pups with fashionable, reliable leashes, toys, and accessories.
Indigo, or Indie, came along as my Emotional Support Animal in 2018. She’s a 9-pound, Toy Australian Shepherd and is the most sensitive and empathic animal I’ve ever met. She’s been so helpful for me through tough times and brings joy in the good times.
Ember & Ivory originally began back in 2016. I was experiencing debilitating anxiety and working a 9-5 office job that was unfulfilling. DIY decor around my 1920’s rental home was giving me that little bit of peace to get through each day.
While planting a tiny succulent in a vintage, silver baby cup I had the idea for a new business. I loved the idea of repurposing something old into something new - the meaning of Ember & Ivory. This meaning felt like a fresh start; one free from the “normal work day” and some relief from anxiety.
I quickly went full-time with Ember & Ivory. After about a year of making and selling the cutest succulent and cacti arrangements, I decided to pause and do some branding and website design (another form of making, but without needing to water plants, ha!)
At some point in 2018, it became clear that the anxiety slowly began to creep back in. That’s when I leaned on my faith. Indie came in and gave me a reason to focus on the happy moments and keep moving forward.
Today, Indie is helping me grow confident again. She gives me inspiration when I don’t think I have any left. She’s one of the reasons I am making again. That cute macrame dog toy - that was the start of the new Ember & Ivory and I am soo looking forward to what’s to come!
